The Safariland In-Ear Impulse is hearing protection designed to let sound waves pass through and reducing them by a minimum of 13dB, allowing you to hear conversation and sound so you function normally. The In-Ear Impulse are perfect for any loud environment such as being around loud machinery, while boating, NASCAR, using power tools and any other loud venues. They allow the wearer the ability to hear and yet be comfortable. The proprietary piezo filter will also react to extreme loud bursts providing up to 33dB protection at levels reaching 165dB. This makes them suitable for some shooting sports like target practice, hunting, sporting clays and such. However, the ability to provide continuous peak protection is not mechanically possible so in certain circumstances when there may be multiple shooters in close proximity, or in in-door ranges, or large magnum calibers peaking well above 165dB the In-Ear Impulse may not be sufficient on their own. In those situations they should be used in conjunction with over the head hearing protection.
