Quick Overview
The Milwaukee BEM802 is a portable pH, electro-conductivity (EC), and total dissolved solids (TDS) meter with Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC), manual one-point calibration using dials, a single-line LCD screen, a combined pH, EC, TDS and temperature probe, a mounting kit, and a probe holder. A pH/EC/TDS/temperature monitor is used by researchers and hobbyists to measure nutrient parameters and substance conductivity in hydroponics, greenhouses, horticulture, water-testing, and scientific applications. The single-line LCD screen displays the current measurement. This meter has manual two-point calibration through dials on the front panel. The meter comes with the MA850 combination, amplified, double-junction, gel pH electrode with incorporated EC/TDS probe and built-in temperature sensor and 1m (3.3') cable.
The meter uses a 9V battery (included) for approximately 150 hours of continuous use and an auto power-off feature turns the meter off after eight minutes of inactivity to extend battery life. The meter has a factory-installed 110V to 9V power converter. The BEM802 also comes with a mounting kit, probe holder, calibration sachets, and instructions.

A pH meter, also called a sensor or tester, is a device used to measure the acidity or alkalinity of a substance. A pH meter has either a portable or a benchtop body. Many portable meters are handheld devices. Some testers have an internal sensor, and may have a tip and body that fit inside of a container for measurement. A meter is commonly used in many different environments from laboratories to field research and manufacturing facilities. Researchers, manufacturers, and hobbyists use a pH meter in aquaculture, agricultural, wine-making, and water-testing, and for scientific applications. Some pH meters may measure additional parameters such as dissolved oxygen (DO), conductivity (also called electro-conductivity or EC), temperature, total dissolved solids (TDS), salinity, resistivity, or oxygen reduction potential (ORP)/mV.
Milwaukee Instruments manufactures electrochemical instrumentation and solutions for water analysis under the Milwaukee and Martini brands. The company, founded in 1998, is headquartered in Rocky Mount, NC.
