  • This unique White House ornament was made in America highly polished brass with a coat of nickel finished with 24K gold. The 2012 Official White House Historical Ornament is a beautiful piece made in America that represents the 27th President of the United States, William Howard Taft. Taft was known for loving both Christmas and automobiles, and this ornament captures both of those passions wonderfully! A large green car, the White Steamer, is featured on this piece carrying passengers and hordes of Christmas presents. The large car calls attention to both Taft's love of vehicles and the need to transport many gifts. A red banner on the front sides of the car reads "Christmas 2012" on one side and "The White House" on the other. Both sides feature the Presidential Seal on the doors. High quality materials such as polished brass, nickel, and 24k gold have gone into the crafting of this commemorative ornament. He would send hundreds of gifts out to family, friends, staff, and other acquaintances. He'd spend day after day shopping looking for books and other gifts that would make suitable gifts for everyone on his list. And if you were visiting that many stores and buying that many gifts, you needed a me
