This valve cover gasket is made from a high-density blend of cork and rubber gasket material with locating tabs. It is 0.1875" thick and laminated with a steel core which prevents the gasket from being drawn inside or pushed out of engine at a high RPM. It builds a positive seal by controlling the swelling of gasket material when exposed to hot engine oil and a black latex rubber coating is applied to the exterior of the gasket to help seal minor flange irregularities. It reduces the possibility of oil leakage and is unshrinkable as well as non-sticky.
