This “Black Diamond” process improves wear properties, reduces friction, and provides resistance to corrosion and wear that is superior to chrome and nickel electrolysis plating. Black Diamond Valves are light, strong, one-piece forgings with profiles that provide excellent flow characteristics. ; White Diamond Valves; We fully CNC machine our White Diamond Valves from a one-piece forging of either EV8 Stainless Steel or Inconel-751. These materials have proven heat and corrosion resistance properties. A 360-degree anode is used to produce the highest possible grade of hard chrome finish. White Diamond Valves are light, strong, one-piece forgings with profiles that provide excellent flow characteristics. ; KPMI Tensilite Titanium Valves; All KPMI titanium valves are manufactured from solid U.S. milled titanium bar. The titanium bar is cut, forged and then the stem is pulled from the forging process and cross-sectionally reduced. After all final grinding and machining the valve is encased in a hard chromium nitride (CRN) shell. CRN offers excellent resistance to impact, abrasion, and corrosion. These qualities along with its low coefficient of friction and excellent adhesion to titanium make CRN the coating of choice for high performance titanium valves. We have tested these valves in the lab and on the track.
