The outer shell of the Matthews sandbag comes in two different types of material: a heavy-duty cordura or vinyl fabric. The cordura is made out of flame resistant and stain resistant nylon. It has a tensile grab of 500lbs warp and 400lbs fill, a tongue tear of 40lbs warp and 30lbs fill, and a fabric construction of 35lbs warp and 24lbs fill. It is coated in solvent urethane with a plain weave and a dyed finish (the color of your choosing). Essentially, you are getting the most quality product manufactured anywhere at an affordable price. The vinyl Matthews uses is a polyester woven fabric that is mildew and ultra violet resistant, meaning the fabric will resist mildew build-up and fading color in the sun.
