The highly functional 55mm Lens Hood rolls back for storage purposes or to convert from normal to wide-angle options. Also, the lens hood features front filter threads that can accommodate filters, lens caps, or other 55mm-threaded accessories.
Manufactured from high quality rubber, this lens hood withstand powerful UV rays, extreme temperature and weather conditions without cracking or fading.
Our precision cut brass-mounting ring is chemically fused to the rubber element of the hood. This creates an inseparable bond that will guarantee reliable service throughout the life of the product.
We do not source any materials outside of Germany in the assembly and construction of our products. All raw materials are prepared and hand-assembled in our factory and do not leave our facility until they are completely inspected by our quality technicians.
Heliopan 55mm Lens Hoods are primarily designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens. In addition, since the end of the lens is extended you also get the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact. The Heliopan lens hood is made from real rubber that will not deteriorate from UV rays or from extremes in temperature. The rubber compound is welded on to the black-finished brass-mounting ring so the hood cannot separate from the ring. The hood is convertible from normal to wide angle by rolling it back and it is front threaded for caps and filters.
